A vintage French reproduction of a moody main detail in Moulin de la Galette (1876) by Renoir.
Backstory: This painting is also known as 'Bal du Moulin de la Galette' and 'Au Moulin de la Galette. ' Moulin de la Galette was the name of a neighborhood dance hall located next to a windmill (moulin is French for windmill). Renoir also painted a smaller version of this painting which is in a private collection.

Pierre-Auguste Renoir (1841-1919) was a French artist who was a leading painter in the development of the Impressionist style. As a celebrator of beauty and especially feminine sensuality, it has been said that "Renoir is the final representative of a tradition which runs directly from Rubens to Watteau."
