Sisley's Village on the Seine (Village au Bord de la Seine), (1872) is one of 35 selected master pieces from the Museum of Western Art in Moscow. Each work of art is safely ensconced in a little portfolio of sorts with a lightweight paper cover to protect the image. The protective cover also details the work of art and the artist in Russian. Image is hand tipped in on a sheet of heavy textured creamy paper with a lovely patina.

Alfred Sisley (1839-1899) was an Impressionist landscape painter who was born and spent most of his life in France, but retained British citizenship. He was the most consistent of the Impressionists in his dedication to painting landscape en plein air.
