Georges Braque (1882-1963)
Georges Braque was a major 20th-century French painter, collagist, draughtsman, printmaker and sculptor. His most notable contributions were in his alliance with Fauvism from 1905, and the role he played in the development of Cubism.
Depicting his artwork from 1961 "Les Trois Oiseaux en Vol" or "The Three Birds in Flight", this poster was created in 1973 to advertise Georges Braque's exhibition at Galerie Maeght. Running from December '73 until January '74 at the Parisian gallery, the exhibition held many of the French painter, sculptor and collagists major works.
