John Marin (1870-1953) created multiple artworks depicting the Singer Building in New York City. The Singer Building was a 47-story office building in Lower Manhattan's Financial District that was the headquarters of the Singer Manufacturing Company. It was demolished between 1967 and 1969 to make way for One Liberty Plaza, which had much more office space. In 1968, the Singer Building became the tallest building ever demolished.
