A charming vintage 1960 tipped in art print of Figure beside the Sea (1952) by Nicolas de Staël. Image hand tipped-in on a sheet of heavy paper and affixed to chipboard backing for maximum ease of styling and propping.

Nicolas de Staël (1914-1955) was a French painter of Russian origin known for his use of a thick impasto and his highly abstract landscape painting. He also worked with collage, illustration and textiles.
